The SAHRC investigation and findings followed several protests by the community about the state of water in the area.

The City of Tshwane will appear before the South African Human Rights Commission over claims of unclean water.

Last week, Hammanskraal residents took to the streets over the poor quality of water. They claimed water in their area had a foul smell and appeared dirty.

Residents also accused the City of Tshwane and Jubilee Hospital of violating their right to human dignity, a clean environment and access to clean water.

Meanwhile, the commission is set to visit Hammanskraal to investigate the residents’ allegations. – Afro Worldview Reporter
