Hong Kong stocks end morning down on Trump fears

Hong Kong stocks fell Thursday morning on concerns that the crisis engulfing Donald Trump would throw off course his plan to fire the US economy by cutting taxes, hiking infrastructure spending and slashing red tape.

The Hang Seng sank 0.23 percent, or 59.29 points, to 25,234.34 by the break.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slid 0.19 percent, or 5.84 points, to 3,098.60 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, shed 0.15 percent, or 2.72 points, to 1,864.96.
